Residential Day 2 (not 3 - oops!)

Guest blogger Harley.
We woke up bright and early this morning to find it still raining. Some of us were awake very early – 4.30am – groan! First breakfast at 7.15am, bacon, hash browns, veggie sausages, toast, yoghurts, cereals – yummy. I had 2 slices of ‘kinda’ cooked toast with bacon and hash browns.
Rain stopped and the sun came out and stayed out all day – we have been dry all day – fabulous double rainbow this evening.
Teeth brushed, rooms tidied for room inspection and then out to play on basketball court until first session. Raft building has been cancelled this week We have done abseiling, zip wire, orienteering, lots of team building games today, some have built buggies and some have made rockets. We have all challenged ourselves in different ways today and trying new things – all have been achieved and celebrated. Lots of cheering each other on.
Before we knew it it was time for lunch – today was hot dogs, jacket potatoes and chicken soup.
More activities in the sunshine this afternoon. I needed to have a splinter removed, luckily not with tree loppers (as threatened) or tweezers – don’t like tweezers.
The evening draws to a close with very creamy mash that I liked and yummy chocolate cake. Obstacle course was ‘more than fun’. Others took part in nightline – using blindfolds and other team building games.
Hot chocolate and bed is beckoning. I’m very excited for tomorrow. Harley.
